A Backflow is put in place to keep the pressurized water line that feeds your domestic, irrigation, or fire sprinkler systems from flowing back into the municipal water supply. The city is giving you water for your fire protection systems, but it doesn’t want that water flowing back into their systems. The Backflow is in place to prevent this.

Get your backflow checked annually:
The test will make sure the device(s) is working properly, not leaking back into the municipal water supply.

Have your repairs done in a timely manner:
Depending on the municipality, any necessary repairs need to be completed within 5-30 days of the annual test.
